Are you truly American?

When you ask someone this, when and now we know that even not when, he/she will say yes. But really are you? Not to be nerdy but to me real Americans who the title are Native Americans, hence the name. Not long after that we had European explorers who carried slaves to the U S on ships. Then we had the freedom seekers from everywhere flood, bless their hearts! But really I am a white male and never really thought about it till now. My family history I am still researching and not finished. Considering what we have been taught, we arrived, killed, and conquered. I hope to find out that my First American ancestor was a something less of a brute.

I live in Texas and the big debate is always about keeping "foreigners" in their own country and away from our jobs. To my way of thinking, we're all foreigners. None of us were born here; we all took a boat. Some of us willing, some us...well, not so much.
